Today starts the third annual PlayStation Experience, a convention for the most hardcore Sony fans out there and throughoutthe conference they were estatic. Sony kicked off with an amazing conference with a slew of great looking games from their AAA studios and all the way to indie developers. Sony showed some PlayStation VR games and also actually acknowledged their handheld, the PlayStation Vita.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
At the head of the show they started with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. According to Naughty Dog’s twitter, they call it a new game and call it a “standalone chapter”. They showed a long gameplay trailer of the DLC, it looked different from your normal Uncharted gameplay. It was more of sneaking around, the camera is closer to the character – sort of similar to The Last Of Us camera – and much more tension. You play as a character who has been in the series since the second installment but was absent from the last game, Chloe.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite
A new trailer was shown for the rumored Marvel vs. Capcom 4 but the new title is Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. It showcases some of the characters such as Mega Man, Ryu and Iron Man. Although no gameplay was shown at PSX, it will be revealed at the Capcom Cup tonight. The game is due out in 2017.
WipEout Omega Collection
WipEout is back for the first time in this generation of consoles. The colleciton will include WipEout HD, Fury, and 2048 and support 4K and HDR and will be at a fluid 60fps. Although no release date has been announced, according to a PlayStation Blog post there will be more info coming in the “coming months”.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
Previously announced at E3 this past summer, the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy will be remade from the ground up. They showed a brand new trailer and it looks way better than I expected. As someone who doesn’t like those games I am eager to see how the controls feel.
Resident Evil 7: biohazard
At the conference it was announced that there will be a new and final demo for the upcoming Capcom horror game. The demo will include PS VR support and will be available by the end of the day. The game will release at the end of next month.
Ace Combat 7
Ace Combat 7 was shown and has VR suupport, here is the new trailer.
PaRappa, Patapon, LocoRoco Remasters
All three of these old PlayStation games will be remastered into HD and 4K. All three of these will be released next year. A demo for PaRappa the Rapper will be released today on the PSN store.
In a lightning round of trailers Sony showed off a ton of games. Here are most of them.
Gran Turismo Sport
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom
Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza 6
Daganropa V3: Killing Harmony
What Remains of Edin Finch
Let It Die
Lara Croft Go
The Last Of Us Part II
Sony ended the show with a bang and unveiled The Last Of Us Part II. The trailer features an older Ellie as well as Joel. It shows Ellie playing a guitar and singing followed by some dialogue between the two protagonists. The game is still in the early days of development according to a Playstation blog post by Neil Druckmann. This game will be released years down the road but it’s nice to see that it is in fact coming.
